Research Triangle Park, N.C. - Triangle Transit Authority (TTA) is seeking input from
Durham and Cary citizens about TTA's 5 Year Transit Plan for Regional Bus Service. On Wednesday, January 14th, TTA will be hosting a public meeting at 6:30 P.M. 8:00 P.M. at the Durham City Council Chambers, located in Durham City Hall. On Thursday, January 22nd, TTA will be hosting a public meeting at 6:30 P.M. 8:00 P.M. at the Page Walker Building in the Cary Town Hall Complex.
TTA is particularly interested in hearing citizens' opinions on the following topics:
- Which destinations outside of the city are most important for Durham and Cary citizens?
- Are the TTA bus stops and transfer points in Durham and Cary in the right locations?
- Which bus service improvements are most important: improved travel times? better connections to local buses? hours of service?
The 5-Year Transit Plan is a document currently under development at TTA to direct the provision of Bus, Shuttle, Vanpool, and Paratransit services between the present day and the opening of the Regional Rail Project in 2007. Right now, TTA is in the process of gathering information which will be used to develop service concepts for the plan.
TTA will also be able to answer questions about the Regional Rail project, carpool and vanpool services, and new electronic resources for transit information, including the new trip planning website, www.gotriangle.org .

TTA is a regional public transportation provider, offering a wide variety of transit and vanpool services to North Carolina's greater Triangle Region and outlying counties. Bus service is available to Apex, Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham, Garner, RDU International Airport, RTP and Raleigh. The Triangle Transit Authority also provides commuter resources and hosts GoTriangle.org, the new on line resource for the public transportation information in the Triangle. TTA plans to implement a 35 mile rail transit system with 16 stations connecting Durham, RTP, Cary and Raleigh, with shuttles linking RDU International Airport and RTP.
