Research Triangle Park, N. C. - Triangle Transit Authority (TTA) recently hired a new staff member and promoted two people.
Tonja Washington, of Durham, was hired as the first Civil Rights Compliance Coordinator to the management of our Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, assisting with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance, and diversity training. Washington will also work with Commuter Resources, Bus and Paratransit staff on ADA and Title VI issues. She is a graduate of Meredith College, has completed Graduate work in Public Administration at North Carolina Central University, graduated from the University of the District of Columbia School of Law, and is a licensed North Carolina attorney.
Kim Crawford, of Raleigh, has been promoted from Senior Policy Analyst to Government Relations Manager. Crawford has worked at TTA since April 2000.
Sandy Ogburn, of Durham, has been promoted from Assistant to the General Manager to Community Relations Manager. Ogburn has worked at TTA since July 1999.
TTA is a regional public transportation provider, offering a wide variety of transit services to North Carolina's greater Triangle Region and outlying counties. In addition to its regional bus services, paratransit and commuter resources, TTA plans to implement a 35-mile regional rail transit system with 16 stations connecting Durham, RTP, Cary and Raleigh, with shuttles linking RDU International Airport and RTP.
