SmartCommute Director Joins Triangle Transit Authority Staff
Research Triangle Park, N.C. - The Triangle Transit Authority (TTA) has hired Crystal Bunch as its Community Relations Manager. Bunch joins TTA from SmartCommute@RTP. Bunch succeeds Sandy Ogburn who retired last month.
"I'm excited that Crystal has brought her energy and expertise to TTA, said John Claflin, TTA General Manager. "Her work to educate the region and help reduce single occupant vehicles has been important. She'll be an important asset as we continue to build support for our services."
Bunch brings to TTA her work of two years at SmartCommute@RTP working as director of the transportation and transit programs to help the estimated 42,000 workers in the Research Triangle Park. In her work at TTA, she'll work with citizens, neighborhood, community and business groups. She says, "I am excited with all of the services TTA is providing and I look forward to hearing from the public as we work together to help preserve the quality of life in the Triangle."
Bunch is a graduate of the University of North Texas with degrees in Communications and Sociology. Her communications experience includes marketing for Coastal Carolina Press and as a Regional Management Specialist with Outback, in charge of public relations, communications and training for 19 locations in North Texas of the well-known restauranteur.
TTA is a regional public transportation provider, offering a wide variety of transit services to North Carolina's greater Triangle Region and outlying counties. In addition to its regional bus services and commuter resources, TTA plans to implement a 35-mile transit system with 16 stations connecting Durham, RTP, Cary and Raleigh, with shuttles linking RDU International Airport and RTP. The rail transit system is expected to be operational in late 2007 or early 2008. For more information, visit www.rideTTA.org or call (919) 549-9999.
