Research Triangle Park, N. C. - Triangle Transit Authority (TTA) has hired Brad Schulz to serve as its Communications Specialist. Schulz will begin working at TTA on Oct. 6, 2003.
Schulz comes to TTA from the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) where he served as Community Relations Specialist for that transit system's Southeast and West Corridors. Prior to his work at CATS, Schulz was a broadcast news anchor and reporter in Charlotte, Knoxville and Winston-Salem.
"Brad's experience in working with over 100 neighborhoods over five years of Charlotte's transit planning process will be a major asset to TTA," said John Claflin, TTA General Manager. "His effective, proactive work in public involvement will help us as we continue and expand our services. We're ready for him to bring that expertise to the Triangle."
In his role at TTA, Schulz will assist the agency in developing an annual communications plan to enhance the organization's public image and ensure the public is informed of TTA activities. He will also serve as the primary spokesperson for the Authority.
Schulz is a Bickel Scholar in Communications from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the City County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA).
TTA is a regional public transportation provider, offering a wide variety of transit services to North Carolina's greater Triangle Region and outlying counties. In addition to its regional bus services and commuter resources, TTA plans to implement a 35-mile transit system with 16 stations connecting Durham, RTP, Cary and Raleigh, with shuttles linking RDU International Airport and RTP. The rail transit system is expected to be operational in late 2007 or early 2008. For more information, visit www.ridetta.org or call (919) 549-9999. |
