Research Triangle Park, N.C. The Triangle Transit Authority (TTA) is introducing an on-line “store” for riders to purchase passes for TTA’s bus and shuttle services. Effective this week, riders can purchase a single pass or multi-ride pass on-line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
In announcing the new on-line sales, TTA Director of Commuter Resources John Tallmadge said the move is another way to make a rider’s experience easier. “Our riders have been asking for more convenient sales outlets, and we thought, ‘What’s more convenient than your own home or office?’ We are using state-of-the-art technology and high security standards from PayPal™, so that shouldn’t be a concern.” Riders do not have to register as a PayPal™ user to purchase TTA passes.
TTA’s on-line purchase system will accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. TTA charges a $1.00 shipping and handling fee per transaction.
Passes now available on-line include:
* The Regional 30-Day Pass is $64 and is valid for 30 days of unlimited rides on TTA,
Capital Area Transit (CAT) and Durham Area Transit (DATA) buses.
*The Regional Day Pass is $4 and valid for 1 day of unlimited rides on TTA, Capital
Area Transit (CAT), and Durham Area Transit (DATA) buses.
*A bundle of six (6) Regional Day Passes is available on-line for $20, a savings of
$4 from the Customer Service window price.
*A bundle of twelve (12) Regional Day passes will be $40, a savings of $8 paid at
the Customer Service window.
Tallmadge says future additions to the on-line ticket “store” will include TTA Express passes for the new express roundtrip service from Chapel Hill to Raleigh and Durham to Raleigh, and passes for the elderly and disabled. “We hope our riders will appreciate the convenience of on-line sales at our site at www.rideTTA.org.”
