Research Triangle Park, N.C. Triangle Transit Authority (TTA) has expanded its e-mail alert notification system, adding several new options.
TTA Director of Commuter Resources John Tallmadge said the expansion follows requests to expand the service. “In January, we launched e-mail alerts when severe weather affected our services. We were pleased at the response and have added more opportunities for riders to choose their interest areas.”
By logging on to www.rideTTA.org/Inside_TTA/Customer_Service/emailAlerts.html, a rider can sign up for information on detours and major delays affecting TTA routes, information about future service changes, updates on the future regional rail project, promotions and the latest TTA news.
Tallmadge said, “Riders and employers that support public transportation have appreciated the convenience of knowing they can receive information quickly.” The e-mail alerts are managed by Bronto, a leading e-mail management company based in Durham, that allows riders the opportunity to manage their preferences.
TTA is a regional public transportation provider, offering a wide variety of transit and vanpool services to North Carolina's greater Triangle Region and outlying counties. Bus service is available to Apex, Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham, Garner, RDU International Airport, Research Triangle Park (RTP) and Raleigh. The Triangle Transit Authority also provides commuter resources and hosts GoTriangle.org, the on-line resource for public transportation information in the Triangle.
TTA plans to implement a 28-mile rail transit system with 12 stations connecting Durham, RTP, Cary and Raleigh, with shuttles linking RDU International Airport and RTP. The rail transit system is expected to be operational in late 2008. For more information, visit www.rideTTA.org or call (919) 549-9999.
